Getting to know Steph

Tell me about your background and where you grew up.

I grew up in San Antonio, Texas. My father was a musician, so our house was always loud, fun, and full of creativity and art. My parents encouraged me to lead with my heart and go after my dreams!

What brought you to Austin, TX?

I graduated high school an entire year early so I could move to Austin to share a house with my older sister. As teenagers, we'd come to Austin to watch bands and shop at all the cool spots in town. I couldn’t wait to be in a city that felt young, alive, and fun.

What led you to become a stylist?

My fashion journey started young, I always loved styling myself and finding unique pieces I'd never seen anyone else wear. To this day, I enjoy seeking out the newest trends and giving them my own twist. I've worked as a buyer for many years and love sharing my point of view with clients and helping people find their personal style. Fashion is really fun!

What is one of your favorite parts of being a stylist?

My favorite part of being a stylist is collaborating with clients, photographers, and brands and making a vision come to life. I love finding a perfect outfit for someone and watching them immediately exude confidence.

What is your favorite type of session and why?

I enjoy styling sessions with anyone excited about fashion and eager to try new ideas. I love when a client has their own vision/inspiration and we can work together to create something unique. I love collaborative sessions!

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Florence Pugh would be really cool, I really dig her style and vibe. I’m also obsessed with the Olsen twins, I’d love it if they took turns playing me!

What is a piece of advice you’ve been given that you’ll never forget?

My father always used to say “If you’re going to start something, do it right.” I use this advice often in my styling work, I love working hard and seeing an idea blossom and come to fruition. The grind always pays off.
